Role Human ResourcesRoles in the Human Resources department are part of a dynamic team that serve as strategic business partners for our internal guests – our shipboard clients – and supports the overall crew experience aboard our vessels and our private island.

Lead by the Manager, HR, members of this team are responsible for ensuring that Disney Cruise Line’s people strategies are aligned with our overall business objectives and we deliver an exceptional living and working environment for our crew.  By focusing on learning and development, talent planning, diversity and inclusion, performance management and crew welfare, the Human Resources Team strives to ensure that our crew experience exceed expectations.

The onboard Human Resources team consists of the following positions:

Manager, Human Resources:
Leads the overall HR initiatives on our ships and serves as a strategic business partner for our shipboard clients.  As a member of the shipboard Steering Committee, this role is responsible for developing key HR strategies that support our overall business objectives and ensure that key HR services are being delivered effectively.  The Manager, HR reports to the Captain as well as the shore side Manager, HR.

Assistant Human Resources Manager:
Responsible for a variety of functions that support our shipboard leaders.  This role is responsible for the overall strategy and delivery of our leadership development programs, and serves as a role model and coach for our leaders.  The Assistant Human Resources Manager ensures that our performance management processes are delivered consistently and effectively in order to uphold our Company policies and procedures at the highest level.  The Assistant HR Manager reports to the Manager, HR (shipboard).

Training Officer:
Responsible for the successful on-boarding and training of our new crew members.  As the first point of contact for our new crew members when arriving on our ships, the Training Officer serves a critical role in ensuring they have the information, tools, and resources needed to be successful.  The Training Officer reports to the Manager, HR (shipboard).

Island HR Coordinator (Castaway Cay):
Serves as the main point of contact for all new island crew and leads the overall HR initiatives on our private island, Castaway Cay.   Responsible for delivering Disney Cruise Line Traditions and Disney training for island leaders and crew.  Coordinates island service standards and applicable HR training.  Coordinator for crew entertainment activities and events, including crew parties, recreational activities, crew community involvement, etc.  Hosts monthly Crew activity and welfare meetings.  Monitors general upkeep of crew recreation areas.  Manages crew entertainment budget.  Supports crew recognition programs.  Assists with crew communication.  Serves as point of contact for crew needs.  Supports island recruitment process for local hires.  The Island HR Coordinator reports to Director, Island Operations and Disney Dream Manager, Human Resources.
